Why get real?

The pathway into adulthood is not the easiest one that we are asked to walk.  We can all remember from our own Youth, how up and down this time can be… and how easily one can get lost, and even forget who we are.  Get Real has been developed to support this entire process, allowing these years of self discovery to be True.  To allow what they are really discovering to be themselves in the truest sense, and to live their greatest potential. 

what will get real give my child?

Get Real helps the Youth identify and fully clear out the limitations they have been living with.  These limitations can come from their experiences in life, their beliefs about themselves and others, their environment, social groups, the choices they are making… and so much more.  Some of this can be holding them back, and creating a whole set of behaviour patterns and choices - and they don’t even see it!

What will they do on camp?

We spend the first day and a half really identifying and really clearing out anything that has been blocking them in life.  So they Get Real with each other, they start to look at what is living their lives… and what is being experienced at a deeper level.  They face the emotions bubbling beneath the surface – like sadness, grief, depression, anger, or anything else that may have a hook with.  They clear out this stuff, and experience the Truth of who they are… without any of this… allowing them to fully experience the power within.  This power has always been here, it can just get covered up along the way, and this is their time to remember… remember who they really are.  We do this using a variety of guided processes based on The Journey TM – by Brandon Bays, through art, movement, writing, dance, and heaps of other processes and activities.  Get Real gives them practical, everyday easy-to-use tools to help them continue to clear out the junk and be totally free! 

The next day and a half is spent devoted to discovering their dreams, their passions in life, learning open communication skills, goal setting and manifestation tools, and learning to support each other in discovering how they can achieve all of this.  To create the life they long to live at the deepest most authentic level… and to finally be themselves!

Logistics -

The group time starts after breakfast at 9am and goes right through until about 9 – 10pm.  Sleeping arrangements are 4 -5 youth /room and one coach. The rooms are separate male and female rooms, and bathroom areas. These are very comfortable bunk style rooms with all linen and towels provided.  During the 3 days we will be using loads of activities and fun, discussions, guided processes, music, movement, art, writing, and honesty to discover this power within.  To uncover their life’s purpose – the reason they are here.  To get in touch with the part of themselves that has always had dreams, and to remember what these are.  They will clear out anything that has been stopping them living their FULL POTENTIAL.  From this Freedom they have a fresh start – and they can live the life they were BORN to live!

Who is supporting camp?

The Get Real camp is a three day residential retreat, from 5pm Friday – 6pm Sunday.  The camp takes place at a beautiful retreat style setting at the Eagle Heights Centre, Mt. Tamborine.  We work together in a group of about 30 – 50 youth, and 8 – 10 coaches.  Get Real coaches are Blue card holders, and all have a depth of experience and training in this work, and a heart calling to serve the Youth.  The Youth will be fully supported at camp by Teachers, Youth workers, and Accredited Journey Practitioners TM.  The Youth are fully supervised and supported by the facilitator and coaches at all times.   To support the emotional and physical healing that takes place during the weekend, the camp is strictly drug, alcohol, and smoke free.
